While the romping vehicle destruction is fun - the controls still feel a little stiff. It's pretty straightforward - a choice between a competitive tournament and a deathmatch will test our skills as top dogs in the Twisted Metal trade. Each with their own unique abilities to head forth and unleash fury on the other cars in the arena.

Like all the other games - you'll be presented with a selection of suped-up vehicles to choose from. Low and behold, he takes over the tournament, and mayhem ensues. The fourth game features a clown named Sweet Tooth passionate about the Twisted Metal competition that rival clown Calypso runs. They do give you the shivers whenever they come on the screen - but perhaps that is part of the intrigue in the series. There is also a choice of Story Mode, where you have to succeed in the tournament when you finally face the main boss - the legendary ice cream truck Sweet Tooth, and its owner - a crazy clown named Needles Kane.I, like many, have a bit of disdain for the characters centered around Twisted Metal - those creepy clowns. The goal of the game is, of course, to stay last alive, ie "Last man standing". Most arenas represent well-known cities such as New York, Paris or Moscow. There is a wide range of vehicles to choose from with different characteristics, each with one unique weapon at its disposal. The arenas are small enough and the encounter of opponents is aimed at the effective and complete destruction of the enemy. However, the Twisted Metal series differs from Carmageddon in one atmospheric function - it is much closer to Deathmatch than any other similar game. The essence is the same - a large (or not), a tooth-armed car, an arena and a number of contenders for the main prize. While the whole world enthusiastically knocked down pedestrians in Carmageddon, somewhere in the background, the very original and cute Twisted Metal project disappeared, but it absolutely deserved attention.
